‘Lessons of Darkness

James and Tiago De Sousa performed a one-off live art show as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival. Using moving shadows, silhouettes, darkness and light, the artists built on their existing work exploring the role of the ego and alter ego.

Live Art at WORDfest 2011

Venue: Crawley, UK

Duration: 6 hours

A live art performance at the 2011 WORDfest in Crawley. The work was based on text from the novel, Jekyll and Hyde. Tiago worked directly onto the window of the ginger moo gallery, both inside and out. Robert Louis Stevenson used his narrative to explore the alter ego; using both sides of the window enabled Tiago to explore different facets of the of the text.
